City of Boulder rental news

Beginning November 1, enforcement for University Hill noise and party violations is now handled by the Boulder Police Department, rather than the Environmental Enforcement department. (Dwellings, November 2005). The indirect impact of this is that Environmental Enforcement has much more time to spend on other violations--trash in particular. We are seeing a huge increase in the number of tickets issued to properties.

The student market continues to be very slow. There are still a high number of vacancies in the Boulder market. We are all hoping the semester change over in January will bring the overall vacancy rate down a bit. If this does not happen you can expect to see rents stay the same, or in some cases, come down a bit to fill the units.
