The cities of Boulder and Longmont have adopted rules that restrict the use of open flame cooking devices on combustible balconies of apartments and condominium buildings. Charcoal grills and other open flame cooking appliances are not allowed in most multi-unit buildings. Propane grills are restricted to 2.5 lb. propane bottles. (BCRHA Dwellings, Mar. 2005).
Although the City of Boulder says they do not have the staff to enforce this ordinance we are getting notices from several insurance companies that they will cancel the policies if these ordinances are not enforced.
